short URI generator

This is a short URI generator similar to tinyurl.com. It takes a long link and generates a short one that can be sent in an email without line-breaks splitting up the link and stopping it working.

I installed it here primarily for my own use, so I can be sure short links I create will always work, and so I can easily look back through the links database. Unfortunately, due to abuse by spammers with advertising links it is now restricted by password to my use only. My appologies to anyone who had found this service useful — genuine links already created remain intact. Please use one of the public services such as tinyurl.com or shorl.com from now on.
