Our Future in Brackets
A decision under article 3.9 of the Kyoto protocol is still under heavy negotiation - this is the part of the protocol that should lead to a second round of mandatory emissions cuts beginning in 2012 and is vital to the future of this process. Today a number of youth lay down their bodies to make the shape of 3.9 in brackets: [3.9] to send the message to delegates that it is our future that is being negotiated. In UN agreements, square brackets means that the decision hasn't been agreed on yet.
